Here is a comparison of my new horns vs. the factory horn on my car. The stock one is the black one on the right.

I am not going to lie to you here, the factory horn on a Dodge Avenger is junk. If I was a deer in the middle of the road, I would not move for it. I would think "hmmm... that just sounds like a female rabbit or something." Knowing this, I spent $20 and got a Fiamm dual horn system. It has a low and high horn wired together, and actually, the high horn is even higher in pitch than the stock horn, but together they sound manly and loud. If I were a deer in the road and heard the new horn honking at me, I would probably soil myself. An interesting note is Fiamm made the original horn too, so the quality can not be too bad if they are an OE supplier. The install was easy, I just wired the two horns in parallel and connected the wires to the factory wires. One factory wire is black; it is ground. All I needed besides the horn kit was a couple of feet of 16 ga wire, some female flat connectors, two butt connectors, some heat-shrink tubing and a small bolt, nut, washer and lockwasher combo. Total approximate cost: $25. Time involved: less than an hour. It was very worthwhile.
