This is the car that started it all for me. My 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity Eurosport. I really loved/miss that car, seriously. We went through a lot together, and my experiences with it, starting with changing the oil for my dad when I was little, are the base of the pyramid that is my mechanical knowledge. It was powered by a 98 horsepower 2.5L "Tech 4" engine with a three speed auto trans. I upped the power somewhat (and made it sound awesome) by removing the catalytic converter and using a single 18" long glasspack with a 3" tip (as you can see). I also did a LOT of bodywork in my yard with spray paint and bondo. Plus I tinted the windows, had a 1000wrms stereo, it goes on...... I even took the car on several mud road excursions, and it never left me stuck.
This just in! The end of an era! I was at the junkyard getting a power steering setup for my truck, and my former Celebrity was there... it apparently had an engine fire. I snapped these pics before it went to its final resting place:
